When thousands of people — all with different backgrounds, roles, and astrological charts — are impacted on the very same day, it raises a deeper question:

What kind of cosmic or organizational shift produces a wave that big?

In Vedic Astrology, we look not only at an individual’s chart, but also at the birth chart of the company itself.

And with Verizon at the center of national conversation this week, I decided to look at its chart through the lens of Vedic Astrology.

Verizon was “born” on June 30, 2000, when Bell Atlantic and GTE merged.
Without an exact time, we rely on ancient techniques, including matching the sound of a company’s name to a specific lunar constellation (a method that has existed for centuries in Vedic astrology).

The syllable "Ve" corresponds to the star Rohini — the same constellation the Moon occupied on Verizon’s formation date.

Rohini is known for:

• mass appeal

• public visibility

• growth through attraction
  

In modern terms:
a brand the public depends on.

And Verizon’s chart confirms exactly that.

A Surge of Gemini Energy: Communication, Sales, Strategy

Four planets — Mercury, Mars, Venus, and the Sun — were all packed into the sign of Gemini at the company’s birth.
In astrology, this kind of clustering creates an extremely powerful (and volatile) focus area.

Gemini governs communication, networks, information flow, messaging, sales strategy, and constant motion.
It’s the sign you’d expect a telecom company to have prominent.

But it’s also a sign of conflict, restlessness, and rapid pivots.

This combination creates a blueprint for a company that rises through sharp intelligence and rapid innovation… but also one that periodically experiences intense internal storms.

The Moon With Saturn and Jupiter: Massive Public Expectation

The Moon — the planet of public perception — sat in Taurus, its sign of exaltation, on Verizon’s birthday.
This gives the company enormous public visibility and a sense of being a “daily essential.”

But the Moon wasn’t alone.
It was flanked by both Jupiter and Saturn, two heavyweights that create:

• high expectations

• pressure to serve the public

Saturn and Jupiter were also placed in Krittika, a lunar mansion associated with cutting away what no longer works.

Kala Sarpa Yoga: The Pattern of Extreme Highs and Lows

One of the most striking features in Verizon’s chart is something called Kala Sarpa Yoga, a formation where all planets fall between the North and South Nodes of the Moon.

This alignment symbolizes:

In May 2025, the lunar nodes entered the signs of Leo and Aquarius.
This might sound subtle, but in Vedic Astrology, the nodes are disruptors. When they change signs, everything shifts.

From Verizon’s Moon chart:

And then, in mid-November, Rahu formed an exact trine to Verizon’s natal Venus — the planet symbolizing employees, value, and relationships within the organization.

A trine sounds beneficial, but with Rahu involved, it often means:

• dramatic realignments

• sudden restructuring

• severing old relationships

In practical terms:
layoffs.

And this energy doesn’t stop here.
In December 2026, the nodes return to Verizon’s original axis — a karmic “cleanup cycle” that often forces companies to let go of outdated structures and rebuild on more sustainable foundations.

What This Means Moving Forward

Verizon’s chart shows a company wired for:

• rapid reinvention

• disruptive breakthroughs

• cyclical restructuring

This doesn’t excuse or soften the human impact of layoffs — but it does show that the timing was part of a larger pattern embedded in the company’s cosmic blueprint.

If anything, astrology can give language to events that feel senseless, revealing the longer arc unfolding behind the scenes.
